The Ministry at the Port of Albany has faced many changes in the past year. We have a center right at the port for the seafarers to come to. They can use the computers there and relax off the ship. Our van would take them shopping to the Mall or various other places.
But when the pandemic hit, things had to change. The seafarers are not allowed off the ships when they are in Port. They must remain onboard. This makes our ministry a little more difficult.
We have begun making Hospitality Bags to send onboard the vessels when they are in the port. We fill them with various items that the crew could use or would enjoy. This is where we could use the help of our Christian Community. If anyone, or groups, would like to collect items that could be put in the Hospitality bags, it would be so appreciated.
We would also welcome volunteers, people willing to go to the ships, deliver the Hospitality Bags and welcome the ship to the Port of Albany. It is a chance to meet people from all over the world.
