2024 Recipients

Rev. Carlyle Adams Ecumenical & Interfaith Award

Rob Kovach has worked for more than twenty years at the Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY. First as Chief Financial Officer, then became President & Chief Executive Officer in 2013. A licensed CPA, it was his coursework in both Jewish Studies and Religious Studies that helps him in his current role and as Treasurer of the Interfaith Alliance of Upstate New York. His activity in interfaith work earned him an Outstanding Achievement in Interfaith Philanthropy award from City & State Reports in 2016. Rob is a life-long resident of the Capital District

Pearl & James Campbell Peace & Justice Award

Natasha S. Pernicka, MPA has been leading The Food Pantries for the Capital District as Executive Director since 2011 and The Alliance for a Hunger Free New York since 2023. Her work with The Food Pantries includes increasing revenue and in-kind support more than 250% over her tenure. She is a guest lecturer on food insecurity, nonprofit leadership, and has presented at events such as the New York State Anti-Hunger Conference, on air on WAMC’s Roundtable, New York NOW, and Capitol Tonight, and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal.

Rev. Joyce Steinkraus Giles Award

Rev. Antonio Booth along with his wife, Dr. Roxanne Jones Booth retired as Co-Pastors for Riverview Missionary Baptist Church. He has been Moderator for the Hudson River Frontier Missionary Baptist Association and on the RCS Community Library’s Board of Trustees. In 2016, the Board of Trustees of the Upper Hudson Library System selected him as Library Trustee of the Year. Pastor Booth has been a
leader in the ecumenical community in the Ravena/Selkirk area and serves as a Co-chair for CACC’s MLK Committee organizing the yearly Interfaith Celebrationin Dr. King’s honor.

Rev. Dr. Roxanne Jones Booth received her doctorate in Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, MA. She has been a mission worker for more than 30 years and has supervised a pre-school, clinic and mission staff in ESwatini.  Booth taught for 14 years in the Department of African Studies at SUNY Albany. Currently, Dr. Booth is a CASAC at The Addictions Care Center of Albany.  Additionally, she is a CACC Board Member and along with her husband Antonio, are Associate Pastors at Macedonia Baptist Church in Albany.

The Rev. Fr. James J. Kane moved to the Diocese of Albany in 1976 where he served many parishes including Sacred Heart and St. Vincent De Paul in Albany. Since 1982, Fr. Kane has been the Ecumenical Director for RCDA and is a leader in the ecumenical and interfaith communities. Fr. Kane has been honored by organizations throughout the region including the Interfaith Community of Schenectady, the Interfaith Alliance of NYS, the RCDA, and the CACC Carlyle Adams Ecumenical and Interfaith award in 1993.
